"Emergency Planning for a Library of Questionable Legal Status" Cover
This hybrid fiction/non-fiction novel follows the journey of an unsanctioned pop-up library built by and for the people during the Occupy Boston movement.
Author Katelynne Shimkus commissioned me to design the cover for her hybrid fiction/non-fiction novel, Emergency Planning for a Library of Questionable Legal Status. The novel follows the journey of an unsanctioned pop-up library built by and for the people during the Occupy Boston movement. The brief asked me to incorporate traditional protest and propaganda poster influences (with a dash of whimsy) while making it clear that it takes place within Boston.
"Welcome to Ohto Park" Monster of the Week Illustrations
This RPG game is an action-packed mystery where a group of hunters find themselves confronting the sinister forces behind Ohto Park, a remote and chaotic amusement park.
I was commissioned to design a digital cover and spot illustrations for the RPG game “Welcome to Ohto Park.” This RPG game is an action-packed mystery for Monster of the Week, where a group of hunters find themselves confronting the sinister forces behind Ohto Park, a remote and chaotic amusement park.
The brief challenged me to utilize a classic pulp style while designing an array of playable fantasy characters, both mechanical and organic, within the game’s setting. The vibe was to be fun, but not cartoonish.
"Planet Scumm: Issue #5" Magazine Cover
I painted the cover for “Planet Scumm Issue #5: Human Resources” in 2018. The illustration was based on the collected prohibition-via-Lovecraft story, “Ain’t We Got Fun.” I based these character designs on the seven deadly sins, as well as plot elements from the story.

"A Wall of Jars" Novel Cover Design
Back in 2016, my husband Alexander Santo and I collaborated on the cover for his debut novel, A Wall of Jars. He wanted a vintage art deco vibe, while still capturing the sci-fi-horror aspects of the plot. His imagination is strongly influenced by science fiction and horror comics of the 1950s and with that in mind, we decided to run with a heavier comic book inking style.
