"En Route" | Vagabond Comics Issue 10: Kindred
“En Route” was published in Vagabond Comics Issue 10: Kindred.
Originally written for IPRC’s Graphic Novel certificate program, this comic was eventually published in Vagabond Comics’s tenth issue. The subtitle is Kindred and the theme was family. This memoir comic is just a snippet of a month long trip my family and I took when I was 14 years old. The angst, matching shirts, and wax figures were both haunting and real.
Thank you so much to the folks over at Vagabond. I was impressed by how smoothly the publishing process went - including a successful kickstarter, which funded these gorgeous, full color books! I’m honored to have been included. Kindred can be purchased here.
Angsting hard in Washington DC. Yes, the image on their shirts is an iron-on photo of an RV.
Photographic proof of the wax figures.
Eurotrip
I eloped last year! We decided to take an elaborate honeymoon in lieu of a wedding and spent three weeks frolicking through five countries in Europe. Even though I bulked up on my physical therapy in the months leading up to the trip, that much walking is hard on anyone. I started drawing this in an airport somewhere during our 36 hour trek home, depicting the glorious moment of rest that only comes once you’ve made it through to your gate.
